Honey bee removal cost: the three questions

Reviewed by the Wasp Control Victoria team

Three questions set the price. Are the bees still outside, or have they moved in? If they have moved in, where is the wax? And how hard is that spot to reach?

A cluster still hanging outdoors is a short visit from $149. Bees living in a wall, eave or roof mean treatment, a second trip, and a cut out to remove the wax and honey, from $495. Chimneys, upper storey walls, huge old colonies and business sites start from $895.

Most of the spend sits in clearing the wax, and that is exactly the part that keeps bees from returning. A lower quote that only treats the doorway usually leaves the wax behind.

Spend less

Ways to keep your bee removal cost down

Most expensive bee jobs were once cheap ones.

Ring about swarms straight away

A swarm outside costs a fraction of the same bees living in your wall a week later.

Cap the chimney

A cowl costs far less than a single chimney colony removal.

Cover the weep holes

Cheap covers on sheltered walls close the most common doorway into a house.

Book the patching with us

If we are opening a wall anyway, having us close it can save a separate trade call out.

What is a typical bee removal cost?

Most homes pay from $149 for a swarm outdoors, or from $495 for a colony cut out, GST included. Chimneys, heights and business sites start from $895.

How come beehive removal cost is more than a swarm?

A settled colony has wax and honey inside the building. Opening up, removing it all, cleaning and sealing takes two visits and far more time.

Can the bee hive removal price change on the day?

Only with your say so. If opening a wall reveals much more wax than expected, we stop and price it before carrying on.

How do I find the bee removal cost near me outside Melbourne?

The price list is the same across Victoria. Any travel is built into the figure you agree to.

Does honey bee removal cost include fixing the wall?

We close up a small cut ourselves at no extra charge. Larger plaster, tile or cladding repair gets its own figure.

Is the quote free?

Yes. Phone and photo quotes cost nothing.

Is there a call out fee on top?

No. The price you agree to covers the job, including any travel.

Why do some quotes look cheaper?

Usually because the wax stays in the wall. You often pay for that later in stains, smells and a fresh colony.

How do I pay?

When the work is finished. We confirm payment options when you book.

Is bee nest removal cost different for a tree?

A hollow trunk colony is treated much like a wall job, with height and reach factored in. You hear the figure on the call.

Is the twelve month cover included?

Yes. The cover on the seal is part of every colony cut out.
