The short version

How does bee removal work?

Reviewed by the Wasp Control Victoria team

There are two kinds of bee job. A swarm is a ball of honey bees resting outdoors while scouts search for a home; it has no comb yet and is usually dealt with in one short visit. A colony has already moved into a cavity and built comb full of honey and young bees.

For a colony, we treat the bees at their entrance late in the day with a registered product. Foragers carry it inside and the colony stops within a day or so. We then come back, open the wall, eave or roof over the comb, remove all of it, clean the space and close the gap.

Getting the comb out is the part that matters. Honey left in a wall softens in summer, stains the lining, draws ants and robber bees, and its scent tells the next swarm a ready made home is waiting.

Call 0435 073 966
What does bee removal cost in Victoria?

A swarm outdoors is from $149 including GST. A colony inside the building is from $495 with the comb cut out, and chimneys, heights or business sites start from $895.

Do you kill the bees?

Yes. We are a pest control service, so colonies are treated and removed. We do not relocate bees or run hives.

Is emergency bee removal available today?

Often. Urgent jobs are booked first, and same day visits happen when someone is nearby.

Is there a bee specialist near me outside Melbourne?

Yes. We book work across regional Victoria, including Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and Gippsland.

What does bee control victoria homes need afterwards?

Sealing. The gap the bees used is closed, and we point out any others on that wall.

Can I just spray the hole?

Surface spray rarely reaches the colony, and plugging the hole can drive bees indoors. The comb also stays behind.

How long does it take?

A swarm is under an hour. A colony is usually two visits a day or two apart.

Will leftover honey damage the wall?

It can. Once the bees stop fanning it, honey softens and seeps. That is why the comb comes out.

Are you beekeepers?

No. If you would prefer a swarm to be collected alive, a registered beekeeper rather than a pest control team is the right call.

Do you handle bees for businesses?

Yes, from $895 with a written scope, timed around your staff and customers.

Is it safe to stay home during treatment?

Yes. Keep people and pets away from the entry and that side of the house until the next day.
